Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

AMP is a Management Services Organization (MSO) that provides clinical and administrative support to ColumbiaDoctors, one of the largest and most respected multi-specialty practices in the Northeast. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate practical nursing care to adult patients in a high-volume, multi-specialty practice, ensuring smooth patient flow and care coordination in collaboration with health care providers and support teams.
  • Perform efficient patient visit intake to include vital signs, data gathering, medical/surgical history, medication reconciliation, allergies, psychosocial history, and wellness and care management screenings.
  • Assist physicians with collecting/processing specimens, testing and in-office procedures, including ECG, Dressings, IV placement, Pt teaching and wound care.
  • Responsible for proper set-up of equipment, instructing patients on procedures and providing discharge instruction for patients both verbally and written.
  • Perform point of care testing according to practice protocols and assigned specialty.
  • Administer oral and injectable medications, vaccines, and therapies per provider order.
  • Complete prior authorizations and insurance-related documentation and patient forms as needed.
  • Effectively manage emergency situations, performing CPR, as well as use of any emergency equipment.
  • Responsible for patient and family safety, reporting incidents to the office manager and completing an incident report in a timely manner.
  • Perform routine quality controls of all needed equipment and documents.

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working as a licensed practical nurse in an outpatient or multi-specialist clinic setting
  • Flexible, self-motivated and able to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Effective communication skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience/Skills:

  • Strong phlebotomy skills
  • EPIC experience
  • Familiarity with specialty-specific workflows and working knowledge of referral processes, prior authorizations, and insurance requirements

Education/License/Certification:

  • Graduated from an accredited licenses practical nurse program (Required)
  • Active NYS LPN License (Required)
  • BLS Certification (Required)

Work Location: On-site.

Salary Range: $32.00 – $35.00 per hour

Job Type: Full-time
